Introducing Groupsymmetry

We’re pleased to announce the release of a brand new product from Condrey Corporation – Groupsymmetry.

Groupsymmetry automates Microsoft network group memberships in real-time. Through Active Directory enacted policies, Groupsymmetry adds users to or deletes users from security or distribution groups according to the rules of a group-specific policy.

Groupsymmetry can simplify group administration by:

• Updating group membership in real-time through Active Directory events
• Synchronizing group membership either manually or through a scheduled synchronization
• Assuring that groups are always accurate and up to date
• Solving potential security risks by managing all security groups
• Eliminating the need to ever manually add a user to or remove a user from a group

Announcing Novell Kanaka for Mac

Condrey Corporation announced yesterday, an agreement with Novell, Inc. to distribute Condrey Corporation’s popular Kanaka for eDirectory Mac client software for no charge to Novell Open Enterprise Server customers with current software maintenance agreements. The new Novell product will be branded Novell Kanaka for Mac and is available at the Novell Customer Center rather than download.novell.com as was specified in the press release.

Condrey Corporation will continue to provide direct support for Kanaka for eDirectory customers with Maintenance agreements. For Novell Kanaka for Mac users who want to work directly with the Condrey Corporation Support organization, you can purchase new Support Incident packs by contacting sales@condreycorp.com or calling 864-328-8528 Option 3.

Condrey Corporation will continue to distribute Kanaka for Active Directory on its own.

Updated Versions of Storage Manager and File Reporter in File Management Suite 2.2

This week Novell released a new version of the Novell File Management Suite, which includes updates to all three product components in the suite. Condrey Corporation develops the Novell Storage Manager and Novell File Reporter components. Here is an overview of what's new in each product:

Novell Storage Manager 3.0.3: This update includes significant performance enhancements that speed up provisioning user storage, processing templates, enforcing policy paths, cross-empire data migrations, and vaulting.

Novell File Reporter 1.0.2.1: Includes a variety of bug fixes.

New Novell Storage Manager Testimonial Video Posted

The Novell Storage Manager Media Gallery has a new video of Florian Deckert, Senior Architect from Sopra Group in France, talking about how Novell Storage Manager is his company's means of automatically provisioning and moving approximately 3,000 home folders and group shares each year, with no involvement from the IT team.

This video was recorded at Novell BrainShare 2011 when one of the Novell video production people was walking by and we just decided to record Florian right there.

Exhibiting this week at Georgia Educational Technology Conference

Doug Ouzts is in Atlanta this week exhibiting File System Factory for Active Directory at the Georgia Educational Technology Conference. He is there in one of our partner's booths, ANC Group, which is Booth #216.

I asked Doug Ouzts to ty to get a picture of our booth in the Exhibitor Hall at South Carolina Ed Tech 2011. He managed to snap this during one of the slower times.

Once again, we are at Booth 321, next to our friends at ANC Group. The show concludes tomorrow.

Exhibiting this Week at South Carolina Ed Tech 2011

As we've done in previous years, we're participating as an exhibitor this week at the South Carolina Ed Tech 2011 conference in Myrtle Beach. We are at Booth 321 and we're next to our partners ANC Group.

We are demonstrating File System Factory for Active Directory, a product that automates the full lifecycle management of user and group network storage. The product is ideal for schools because it can automate the provisioning, on-going management, and disposal of student and faculty home folders and group folders. In fact, it can even let you set up "digital classrooms" where a teacher can electronically disperse homework and students can electronically turn the homework in.

Thanks to features like these, as well as the ability to migrate data from Novell to Microsoft networks, File System Factory for Active Directory has been deployed in more schools this year than any previous year.

Novell BrainShare 2011 Days 3 and 4 Report

Thursday was a busy day for us. It started out with a 9:00 AM advanced session on Novell Storage Manager. We covered things like creating collaborative storage using Dynamic Template Processing. In fact, throughout the week, we had a lot of Novell Storage Manager customers come by to visit us at IT Central and ask about collaboratiove storage.

In those rare moments when our CEO, David Condrey had a free minute and stopped by our tables, many old friends stopped by to say hello.

Thursday night was an Oktoberfest themed IT Tech Talk. A couple of Novell partners we handing out hats and quite a few attendees where wearing them.

On Friday morning we repeated our advanced Novell Storage Manager session, Despite the early hour and it being the last day of the conference, the session was well attended.

Doug Ouzts also taught an Advanced Technical Training course on Novell Storage Manager on Friday morning.

During the last hour we were at our tables at IT Central, a representative from a large IT shop in France came by to talk about how much their company relies on Novell Storage Manager for home folder and collaborative storage provisioning and migration. Novell even filmed him talking about the product. We hope to have the video up and available to you soon.

Overall, it was a great week at BrainShare 2011.

Novell BrainShare 2011 Day 2 Report

Doug Ouzts, our Director of Partner Services,has been busy all week with meetings and training. This morning he spent about an hour in a one-on-one training session for Novell Storage Manager.

Our Novell File Reporter session was held today. Ed Shropshire, our Director of Product Management was one of the session speakers.

There is a learning module for Novell Storage Manager at Installation and Upgrade Central and today I was able to get a picture of someone running through the module.

I talked to him for a few minutes and it turns out that he has been using the product for years and just wanted to see some of the newest product features.

Tomorrow will be our first session on Novell Storage Manager (NOV320). All five of us will also be involved in IT Tech Talk in the evening.

Novell BrainShare 2011 Day 1 Report

The keynote address this morning included a demonstration on file management that featured Novell Storage Manager.

IT Central opened this morning at 11:30 and there were some people that headed directly to the Novell Storage Manager and Novell File Reporter tables that we are manning.

We talked to a variety of people today about both products. It was especially nice to visit with Novell Storage Manager and Novell File Reporter customers.

Some of us will be participating in sessions tomorrow. There is a File Reporter session (NOV226) at 1:00 PM, and a Novell File Management Suite session (NOV214) at 4:00 PM.
